Stop it.

Stop it.

whitenoiseandblacklight asked: I see your characters in that gif set and I've only read the excerpts and character profiles. Your words resonate, Kate. This just has to, and will, turn into something great. (p.s. anomalous just happens to be my favorite word)

Ugh, thank you SO MUCH. Seriously, you guys have been too much lately. I really hope this goes somewhere and y’all can read it and make graphics and stuff. Like, that’s my main life goal. Is for someone to make a graphic about who they ship in Anomalous or something.

Can not get over how gorgeous she is, so excited for season 3 of Shameless.

Emmy, shut up. Also, hey, do we know when season 3 starts? I’m trying to get a little reading done before I binge on season 2, but I’m gonna have to get it done before 3.

At last, something beautiful you can truly own.

God, I have so many feelings about this show. What am I going to do after the finale? I wonder what it will be…

americanfall asked: I'm in the same situation as you, wrote an book, agent is interested highly, but I wanted to know if it was nessecary to have everything planned out before, or kinda a made up as I went along for the first book. The other ones have to have more planning, but the entire theme of the first book is spontaneous and the random effects of war. So it fits, but is organization needed?

So you’re saying the plot of the first book in your series wasn’t outlined really before you wrote it? If so, I should tell you that anyone whose talked writing with me before knows I’m a structure queen. I plot out my books and scripts multiple times before I sit down to write them, often with color coded post its. My book is timed like a swiss army watch. Even when I was done writing it, I outlined it and again, put it back on post its and made adjustments. The order in which you tell a story, reveal the information, develop the characters is very important. Maybe you’re one of those people who can just sit down and make sense of it. But my advice is if you’re going to an agent make sure you’ve worked over and polished that thing five times over. It helps to get a second set of eyes on it as well.

[After a short hiatus, we’re pleased to say that Review of my Cat is back!]
Cat: Dewey
Owner: Kate
Appearance: A
Dewey has a light fur/dark eyes combo rarely found in cats thus making him quite a handsome gentleman. He also has an attractively prominent Anglican nose.
Sociability: B
If you were to rate Dewey on a simple 1 = Avoids Contact / 5 = Seeks Contact scale, Dewey would be at about an 11. However, I’m going to argue that TOO MUCH friendliness warrants a point deduction. Dewey gets a 5 for greeting every guest with a leg rub. He gets -1 for indiscriminately doing the same for murderers and thieves.
Usefulness: F
Dewey has no use. In fact, he inhibits others’ usefulness via random tripping and gnawing.
Huggability: C
He accepts it immediately and rejects it shortly thereafter. It should be noted, though, that his feelings about the matter are rarely taken into account.
Overall Grade: C

Guuuuuyyyssss Dewey is famous!!!!!!

Today in Good News…

First of all, for those of you following my Anomalous stuff, today at lunch I submitted the manuscript to the agent who had expressed an interest in reading a revised copy. I just got an email back saying she was happy I got it over and would be reviewing it “with interest”. Hold on let me breathe.

Okay.

I just submitted a travel form to the Steve Harvey team making it OFFICIAL that I’ll be headed to Las Vegas this August for a long weekend to work the Hoodie Awards. It’s an event he puts on every year celebrating the best of local communities (best barber, best church choir, etc). A free weekend…in Vegas…with my fabulous gay boss. Now I need to buy a white dress and shoes for the white party.

So, I guess the only way to end the day is to run home, get into something more comfortable, and meet up with Jen to go see Erin’s show tonight and grab a drink.

Everything is truly coming up Milhouse.
